A Gobo Projector is one of the most cost-effective ways to brand a physical space. Whether it is projecting your logo onto a busy Delhi sidewalk or displaying safety warnings on a warehouse floor, the clarity of the image depends entirely on the quality of the installation. At Mangal Sen and Sons, we emphasize that projection is a science of light management.

1. Site Survey: Light vs. Lumens

Before drilling holes, you must evaluate the ambient light of your location. Projection is subtractive; it must compete with the existing light in the room. For outdoor daytime projection, you typically need 100W to 300W LED power. For indoor retail or evening storefronts, our 15W to 50W models are highly effective.

The Contrast Ratio: For a "crisp" look, your projected light should be at least 3 times brighter than the light already hitting the surface.

2. Throw Distance and Image Sizing

The "Throw Ratio" determines how large your logo will be at a certain distance. Most MS & Sons projectors use a standard medium-throw lens. As a rule of thumb, for every 1 meter of distance, your image will grow by approximately 0.25 to 0.35 meters in diameter.

Distance (M) Approx. Image Diameter (M) Recommended Wattage
3 Meters 0.8m - 1.0m 15W - 25W
6 Meters 1.8m - 2.2m 50W
12+ Meters 4.0m+ 100W - 200W

3. Mechanical Installation: Avoiding Keystone Distortion

Keystoning occurs when the projector is at a sharp angle to the surface, causing the logo to look stretched or like a trapezoid. To prevent this:

4. The Art of Focusing

Unlike a TV, a Gobo projector has a physical focal point. Our 2026 range features high-precision multi-coated glass lenses. To focus:

  1. Power on the unit and wait 60 seconds for the LED to reach full brightness.
  2. Loosen the waterproof lens ring (for outdoor models).
  3. Rotate the front lens barrel slowly. The image will go from "blurry" to "sharp" to "blurry" again. Find the middle point.
  4. Look at the edges of the textβ€”that is where you will see the best focus results.
  5. Once sharp, tighten the locking screw to prevent vibration from shifting the focus over time.

5. Outdoor Setup: IP67 Ratings & Weatherproofing

In regions with heavy monsoons or extreme heat, like Delhi/NCR, weatherproofing is vital. Our outdoor logo projectors are IP67 rated, meaning they are dust-tight and protected against water immersion.

Installation Tip: Always install the projector with the cable gland pointing downward. This prevents water from running along the cable and seeping into the seals via gravity.

6. Maintenance for High-Output LEDs

To keep your brand shining bright, follow this maintenance schedule:

Pro Tip: Using a glass gobo instead of metal ensures your logo never fades or warps, even if the projector runs 24/7 in an industrial environment.
